The Devil Wears Prada

Well, I didn't make much progress on the book, Christ the King. I found the names difficult to keep straight and overall the storyline wasn't what I had expected. I have loaned the book to my sister, but I will probably give it another try later.

I saw the movie, The Devil Wears Prada, with friends and famiy recently. We really enjoyed the movie and since Ann had the book at home, I began to read it. I found the book enjoyable and hard to put down. It was an easy reading book, but I think I liked the storyline of the movie a bit better than the book.

I recently checked out from the Cabot Library, Twelve Sharp by Janet Evnovich. That will be next book to read.

Summer Reading

Since Community Bible Study has ended until the fall, I have time to do other reading. I have started the Anne Rice book, Christ The Lord, Out of Egypt. I wasn't a reader of Anne Rice until I read an article about her return to Christianity. The official Anne Rice website can be found here http://www.annerice.com/. This book is a novel about the early years of Christ, based on the gospels and other research. I'm only on Chapter 9, but it is an enjoyable read. This book was picked as Spiritual Book of the Year by belief.net. There is a link on Anne Rice's website that will take you to the belief.net.
